Marion Applebees moves to a new location

Earlier this month, the Marion Applebee’s moved from its old location by the mall to a brand new location right on South Western Ave.

Applebee’s has been in Marion for nearly 30 years, being one of the original businesses in the old Five Points Mall. Today, Planet Fitness and Roses Discount Store are the last remaining businesses in the old mall complex.

“We needed new and improved. We were 33 years at that store at the mall. When the mall closed down, it hurt Marion badly. We were looking for a new and improved way that we could show up and say, ‘Marion Applebee’s is still here, and we’re ready to serve you and win back Marion.” Alicia Bryant, the General Manager of Marion Applebee’s, said.

“My first impression of the new Applebee’s when I got here is that it is very modern and very busy,” local patron, Kailyn Kreuter, said.

Following the grand opening of the new location, the community has been supportive and all for the new Applebee’s, filling up the restaurant night after night.

“It’s been huge. Everybody’s excited. They’ve all been loving the new restaurant look. It gives a fresh look, a more inviting atmosphere that’s not just sports themed, but family friendly.” Bryant said.

The new Applebee’s goes back to the franchise’s core values of not just having a fancy-looking restaurant, but bringing great service to customers, and making sure customers not only get good food, but also a good community.
